Something about Tissot’s painting “On the Thames,” which I posted here the other day, seemed intensely familiar: the padded hips, the gathering of fabric on her skirt, her sweet florals, her almost cartoonish womanliness. And then it hit me: Alexander McQueen, Spring 2007, the Sarabande collection, one of the great designer’s loveliest. (Watch a video here.)
